Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Differentiate the various QuickBooks Online data exchange methods and determine the appropriate import or export approach based on the type of accounting data, desired output format, and subscription level.

2. Export reports, lists, and other QuickBooks Online data to Microsoft Excel, CSV, and PDF formats while recognizing the capabilities, limitations, and practical considerations associated with each export method.

3. Apply techniques to optimize exported QuickBooks Online data by configuring browser download settings, managing Excel Protected View, eliminating merged cells, and preparing exported files for efficient analysis.

4. Use Microsoft Power Query to automate the cleansing, transformation, and refresh of exported QuickBooks Online data to improve reporting efficiency and reduce repetitive manual processing.

5. Import transactions, lists, journal entries, and budgets into QuickBooks Online by preparing compliant import files, mapping required fields, validating data formats, and resolving common import errors.

6. Extract and transform accounting information contained in PDF reports using Microsoft Power Query to create structured datasets suitable for financial analysis and reporting.

7. Evaluate the enhanced import, export, and synchronization capabilities available in QuickBooks Online Advanced, including Batch Transactions, Spreadsheet Sync, and advanced data exchange features.

8. Identify common data exchange limitations, troubleshooting techniques, and performance optimization strategies that improve the reliability and efficiency of QuickBooks Online import, export, and synchronization processes.
